April 1 Start of the 2007 Firewise free chipping program for high fire risk neighborhoods in Napa County. Look for more information in early 2007.
April 21 Earth Day 2007: Saturday, April 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Napa Valley College Soccer Fields. Food, live music and activities the entire family will enjoy. Visit the Napa Firewise booth and learn about fire prevention in wildfire country!

Community Workshop:

Building A Firewise Community

 

You are invited to learn more about what it takes to build a successful Fire Safe Council by attending a special stakeholder meeting on May 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Soscol Professional Plaza Building (Ag Commissioner's conference room), 1710 Soscol Ave., Napa. The agenda will include presentations by Napa Firewise officials and Fire Safe Council community representatives on issues critical to personal survival in wildfire country. Wildland Urban Interface Building Standards Workshop.

Napa Firewise, in conjunction with CAL-FIRE, is hosting a free training course on important updates to the California Building Code: Chapter 7A.

The course is designed for building officials, fire officials, planners, building materials manufacturers, developers, architects engineers and other building professionals. Location: UC Extension Conference Room, 1710 Soscol Ave., Napa.Time: 9am to 1pm. Lunch provided. Limited to 40 persons. RSVP by September 13 to Kaaren at 707.967.1419 or kaaren.stasko@fire.ca.gov .
