To empower the citizens of Napa County with the information, knowledge, and support they need to survive a wildfire.

 The Napa Communities Firewise Foundation will help you:

  1. Contact The Napa Communities Firewise Foundation - info@napafirewise.org

  2. Hold a community "Home Ignition Zone Educational Workshop"

  3. Collect  a "Yes I'll help" list of citizens

  4. Form a Fire Safe Council (Board or Committee)

  5. Get a Defensible Space Assessment done - professional assessment of needs

  6. Create a community map

  7. Identify areas of concern - projects

  8. Establish priorities for these projects

  9. Develop a "Community Wildfire Protection Plan" (CWPP)

  10. Complete your first mitigation project

  11. Apply for your first fire safety grant

  12. Receive your first grant award

  13. Your community becomes Firewise certified

  14.  Follow your CWPP, preserve and protect your families & property into the future
